The session in which we speak with Stuart Lev, Esq about his life’s work defending some of the most powerless people alive – inmates sentenced to death. According to Amnesty International, almost all death row inmates could not afford an attorney at trial. Stuart works at the Federal Community Defender Office in Philadelphia as a senior litigator in the Capital Habeas Unit. 



The session in which we talk about suicide prevention with Yasamin Brown, CEO of the Hope Restored Suicide Prevention Project, LLC. Yasamin lost her father, the late Dr. Ronald Chance Brown, to suicide in 2002. She now uses her experience and Public Health degree to train professionals and lay people in suicide prevention at

An update: Since our interview with Dr. Karafin, Senate Resolution No. 417 was passed. This resolution directs the Joint State Government Commission to establish an advisory committee to conduct a study on secondary school start time in PA.
