Rape Culture is …

When we interviewed Amanda Spitfire and Roderick Thomas II about their work at Project SAFE in session 27 (A Solid Community of Humans) we also asked Amanda to recite some original poetry.

Amanda chose a couple of excerpts from an intense poem they wrote for March to End Rape Culture/Take Back the Night Philly. Their recitation went beyond the time we could offer in 1 session so we offer it here as a stand alone BONUS.

It is truly a BONUS to hear this!

With Amanda’s permission we shortened the title – the entire title of the poem is:

Rape Culture is… from behind the Mind of a Trauma Counselors Eyes  — because my organizing will be intentional or it will be nothing — this is an attempted Intersectional Synopsis of the Effects on Life Raised Under Rape Culture
